The Masters

Amen Corner

With the final day of the Masters approaching, I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of our time at the Augusta National.  David and I were given tickets to the practice round on Tuesday. This was my first time going in to the very exclusive golf course in my hometown. It was so fun.  I loved that cell phones were prohibited and smoking was allowed-even though I don't smoke, I do enjoy the smell of cigars.
Can you see Ernie Els?

Nice pants!

Annalise didn't come in to the tournament with us-instead she cried with her Grandma-thanks Grandma Judy! She was fine once she had Momma.

St. Patrick's Day

Having a little Irish in the blood always makes for a fun St. Patrick's Day!
Jude called these masks- pigs; Amelia corrected him by telling him they were apricots. Apparently the word leprechaun is not yet in their vocabulary.

These crafts were brought over to us by our friend Jen Harvey-a.k.a. the Queen of Craft. Thanks Jen!

The kids get their Irish from David's paternal grandmother, Marney Coy Weber, after whom Amelia Coy is named.

Annalise Marie

Welcome Annalise!
David couldn't decide what to wear to the birth, but he eventually opted for this stylish onesie!

My biggest baby so far!

We came in on the 27th for an induction after a week of false labor that had production no signs of true labor and had worn our family out.  After hours of potosin(I'm not sure how to spell that drug) and contractions I was no further along in the process, there was even the possibility that I would have to go home and wait.  The doctor broke my water and within an hour I was having contractions that were bringing about true labor.  That was when I asked for medicine for the pain and when the nurse checked to see how far along I was, she said, "that's not a head."  Annalise was hand first and that meant that a c-section and a stopping of labor were in order.  I set a record for 2 hours in the OR, most of which was spent getting my body numb, as the 2 spinals that were performed did not have the normal effect.  It was quite the moment of joy and relief when they held up our chubby baby girl and she checked out with a 9 APGAR score.  This was definitely a different experience for us all, but the hospital and staff were great, we received an amazing gift in Annalise, and the Father blessed us with His presence through the whole adventure.  Praise the Lord!

SNOW

Had a little tumble

David shoveling out the driveway-always good to have a clear path when your wife is 37 weeks pregnant.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
And boy did it snow!

Girls Night

I was able to take Amelia out for a girls night as a last date before the baby comes.  A friend and I set up this event in October.  We took our girls to Greenville to see Disney on Ice, classic princess edition.  It was so much fun.  We took the girls to Applebees first and then to the center where the show was.  Neither of us told our girls beforehand what we were going to do, so you can imagine their excitement when the lights went down and Mickey and Minnie skated out to announce the show!

Thanksgiving

Realizing that Christmas will be here soon, I wanted to get in a blog about our wonderful Thanksgiving.

We started off with the very untraditional Thanksgiving traditions of tamales and guacamole as we celebrated with my ESL class!

Followed by the more traditional and yet very messy feast with our Mommies and Little People group.

Then we celebrated some birthdays: Sarah-3; Kaleb-5; Tucker-4; and David, well the pies say it all!

We were very happy to share this Thanksgiving with David's grandparents from Washington State.  Here they are with a portion of their great-grandchildren.

In Pa's defense there were 8 pies!
It was a wonderful time of celebration for us all!
